Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Medical Director to define the clinical development strategy for povetacicept in primary membranous nephropathy and lead cross-functional teams in trial design, execution, and regulatory submissions. This role may act as Medical Lead for trials and requires extensive pharma/biotech development experience.

The position involves supervisory responsibilities, collaboration across departments, and potential leadership of staff with a hybrid-eligible work

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent ex-US medical degree.
• 12+ years in Pharma/Biotech with clinical development leadership experience.
• Board certification/eligibility in a specialty is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Define a clinical development strategy and asset plans in collaboration with other functions.
• Lead cross-functional teams to design and execute clinical trials.
• Prepare regulatory documents and respond to authorities (INDs/CTAs, safety reports, CRs).
• Provide medical leadership for study teams and liaise with Vertex and external partners.
• Oversee medical monitoring and contribute to business development and strategic planning.
