Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking an Executive Medical Director, Clinical Development, to lead the immunology clinical portfolio and shape strategy across phases 1–4.

You will serve as the primary physician voice for the povetacicept franchise and collaborate with Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Global Patient Safety to advance programs and mechanisms. You will guide cross-functional teams, develop protocols, oversee safety reviews, and interface with global regulatory authorities to

Qualifications

• 15 years pharmaceutical industry experience, incl. clinical trials and/or clinical development programs
• 7 years of people management experience
• Immunology and/or rheumatology expertise
• Board certification/eligibility in immunology or rheumatology

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical development programs and provide project team leadership
• Plan and execute global clinical development activities including data monitoring/steering committees
• Represent the clinical development team at cross-functional meetings
• Develop study protocols and review Investigator Brochures
• Review and evaluate study subject exemptions and safety profiles
• Interface with international regulatory authorities to support development objectives
• Ensure compliance with ICH, GCP and Vertex SOPs
• May have financial accountabilities and HR responsibilities for assigned staff
