Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Medical Affairs Senior Medical Director to provide medical and scientific leadership in Nephrology. You will ensure alignment of medical strategies with corporate goals, lead a regional medical team, and drive data generation and RWD initiatives to support safe and effective use of Vertex medicines.

The role emphasizes compliance with policies and regulations, collaboration with regional medical leadership, and development of Life Cycle Management plans to meet patient needs

Qualifications

• Medical Degree MD/DO in nephrology.
• Significant experience with supervisory/management roles.
• Strong understanding of medical, regulatory and commercial environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and scientific leadership in nephrology across therapeutic areas.
• Ensure compliance with Vertex policies, laws and codes of practice.
• Develop and execute regional medical strategies and lifecycle plans.
• Drive data generation and RWD initiatives to enhance medical knowledge.
• Lead and coach the regional medical team and recruit talent as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align medical and business goals.
• Safely communicate medical information to HCPs, payers and stakeholders.
