Job summary

Wolters Kluwer in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Content Editor to lead high‑quality content development for the Medical Education and Medical Practice portfolios. The role emphasizes advanced editing, project management and collaboration with SMEs, authors and internal teams to deliver content that meets industry standards.

You will manage multiple content projects, optimize editorial workflows, and drive innovative digital solutions while ensuring timely delivery and budget alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in academic and/or healthcare publishing.
• Travel: <10% for team meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Develop content and assets for print and digital products in medical education and clinical practice.
• Oversee high-volume products during development to meet schedule, scope and budget.
• Collaborate with Acquisitions, Editorial Operations, Content Operations, Product Management, Marketing and Sales; coordinate with vendors, authors and SMEs.
• Analyze proposals and sample content for market viability and feasibility of SMEs/authors to create content per plan.
• Provide direction on author/SME approach, organization, pedagogy, illustrations and use of digital resources.
• Create and monitor project budgets and schedules; prepare management reports as needed.
• Resolve quality or scope issues; coordinate with Editorial Operations to fix schedule, budget, and vendor performance.
• Support development of digital assessments, student resources, case studies and videos for digital delivery.
• Enforce editorial standards; ensure compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Evaluate content performance metrics and suggest improvements.
• Engage in quality assurance initiatives for digital content.
