Job summary

Memorial Health System in Reno, OH is seeking a Health Information Services Coding Supervisor to oversee the assignment of codes for all inpatient and outpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT guidelines. The role supports optimal reimbursement while maintaining confidentiality and standards of excellence.

You will mentor coding staff, ensure productivity and quality, collaborate with providers to complete charts timely, and stay current with federal regulations and DRG

Qualifications

• Completion of formal program for accredited record technician or certification in coding required.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in diagnosis and procedure coding in a hospital medical records department using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT coding guidelines.
• Must know coding rules, DRG rules, medical terminology, CCI edits, MRPs, computer knowledge (Windows based), anatomy, physiology, medical tests, and drug therapy as related to disease, and be able to communicate (written and oral) with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coding compliance with productivity and quality standards.
• Maintain appropriate A/R days and assist providers to complete charts timely.
• Stay informed about coding issues to comply with federal regulations.
• Provide education and follow up on coding issues with departments, physicians, and staff.
• Perform supervisory duties and evaluations.
