Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking an entry-level Clinic Coder I to support coding and billing accuracy within our Revenue Cycle division. You will abstract and code patient records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines, assign MS-DRGs/APCs, and ensure precise billing for patient care.

Despite being entry-level, a proactive learner mindset is essential, with preferred credentials such as CPC, CCS, or CCA to demonstrate coding standards proficiency.

Qualifications

• Entry-level medical coder role focusing on less complex coding and data accuracy.
• Proactive attitude toward learning and adherence to policies.
• Preferred CPC, CCS, or CCA certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Abstract patient records and determine appropriate diagnoses.
• Apply ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 rules to assign MS-DRGs and APCs.
• Enter and validate charges and resolve discrepancies with coded procedures.
• Collaborate with Coding Manager to rectify accounts for accurate billing.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and data collection standards.
