Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a remote Medical Coder to translate medical records into ICD, E/M, CPT and HCPCS codes. You will ensure documentation supports services rendered while complying with regulatory standards and payer guidelines.

You will communicate with providers and staff to resolve documentation gaps, query clinicians when needed, and educate teams on coding procedures to improve accuracy and billing efficiency. This is a work-from-home role for California residents.

Qualifications

• One year or less of professional fee coding experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPC, CPC-A or CCS-P Certification.
• GECB/IDX and Cerner experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate medical records into ICD, E/M, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure documentation supports services rendered and complies with regulatory standards.
• Query providers when documentation is unclear or missing.
• Educate physicians and staff on coding and documentation as needed.
• Communicate with providers and staff to ensure accurate coding and timely claims.
