Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Coder II to apply senior-level expertise in coding inpatient and outpatient professional services across multiple specialties. You will review documentation to assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes, resolve edits, analyze denials, and collaborate with supervisors and the Revenue Management team to ensure compliant coding and optimized revenue.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of professional fee coding experience across multiple specialties.
• Experience with EHRs and health care applications.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and outpatient professional fee services across multiple specialties using CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes.
• Review documentation, resolve edits and denials, and collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize revenue integrity.
• Maintain workqueues and coding assignments within defined processing timeframes.
• Submit queries to providers for clarification when needed.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards established by management.
• Code three or more specialties or at least one highly complex specialty (e.g., Cardiology).
• Follow protocols to promote efficiencies and timely filing of claims.
