Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant Certified to provide advanced medical assisting support under physician and/or RN supervision. The role includes procedures, patient care, and serving as a clinical resource and preceptor to other medical assistants.

The position emphasizes high-quality patient care, adherence to standards, and ongoing training. The Sr. MA may schedule visits and ensure care eligibility while maintaining CLIA and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years medical assistant experience with highly complex, chronic disease management or in a specialty discipline.
• Certified Medical Assistant and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatments and dressing changes.
• Perform administrative duties in compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, NCQA and government standards.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify medical necessity and eligibility for care.
