Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant (Certified) to provide expert clinical support under physician or RN supervision. The role includes assisting with examinations, procedures, and treatments, while ensuring compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, and NCQA standards.

The Sr. MA will perform administrative tasks, coordinate scheduling, and act as a preceptor and clinical resource to staff, promoting high-quality patient care and safety in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Five years medical assistant experience with highly complex, chronic disease management or specialty discipline.
• Certified Medical Assistant and BLS certifications required; CPT preferred is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, and dressing changes.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify medical necessity and eligibility.
• Provide preceptor and clinical resource support to Medical Assistants; orient and train staff.
