Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support coordinated patient care in a clinical setting. You will prepare patients, document history, measure vitals, and aid with screenings under provider direction.

The role requires EHR proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to assist with in-house testing and prescriptions. Training and certification timelines are part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or completion of a medical assistant program.
• 1 year as a medical assistant preferred.
• Experience with practice management software and electronic health record applications.
• Must obtain certification within 120 days of hire; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms patients, records vital signs, documents history and screenings.
• Acts as an EHR superuser and documents in EHR per standards.
• Assists in coordinating patient care and procedures under supervision.
• Performs in-house testing and assists with prescription needs per protocol.
• Maintains inventory, stocks supplies, cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Mentors MA students and orientates new staff.
