Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care by coordinating examinations, treatments, and health care planning under provider direction. You will document vital signs, manage EHR notes, and assist with screenings and medications following established protocols.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Experience with practice management software and EHR applications.
• Current valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients and document vital signs and history.
• Act as an EHR superuser and document encounters.
• Assist in coordinating patient care and screening procedures.
• Provide follow-up with patients per provider instructions and notify results.
• Mentor and orient new medical assistants and students.
• Perform clerical duties and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain inventory and sterilize instruments per policy.
• Assist with lab controls and medication administration.
• Travel between physician office locations if required.
