Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing seeks an Automation Technician IV for our Spartanburg, SC facility. You will mentor junior automation and welding staff, troubleshoot complex robotic welding cells, and perform PLC-based programming and offline robot tasks.

This role requires deep electrical/mechanical knowledge, safety discipline, and hands-on maintenance experience. Work will be on a 3rd shift (9:00 PM–5:00 AM) Sunday–Thursday, at our Spartanburg plant.

Qualifications

• Read/interpret electrical and mechanical prints and schematics.
• Must have PLC systems knowledge and intermediate programming.
• Minimum 3 years as Weld Technician/Automation Technician or equivalent.
• Industrial safety standards and machine maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Automation Technician I-III and Weld Technicians.
• Troubleshoot and service automated welding cells and robotics.
• Perform intermediate programming tasks and offline robot programming.
• Setup electrical systems, panels, and I/O wiring.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and tool changes as directed.
