Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Controls Engineer for the 3rd shift in Spartanburg, SC. You will design and program PLCs, HMIs, robots and other automated equipment, and lead troubleshooting efforts to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 2 years of experience with Rockwell software and AB CompactLogix/GuardLogix/PanelView+. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement and work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Rockwell software and AB CompactLogix, GuardLogix, PanelView+ platforms.
• Electrical knowledge: Install hardware and wiring.
• Able to program Panel View (HMI) and PLC; program and debug automated robotic welding, sealing and assembly systems.
• Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve highly automated controls, robots and welding systems.
• Design and program PLC, HMI, robots and related equipment as needed.
• Lead in troubleshooting malfunctions and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
