Planted is hiring a Senior Mechatronics Engineer in Oakland, CA. The role sits within the Hardware Engineering team and focuses on building advanced machines, robots, and complex systems for solar industry innovation.

You will lead design cycles from concept ideation through production, collaborating with a highly skilled cross-functional team to deliver robust, scalable solutions. The salary range for this full‑time role is $125,000 - $175,000 plus stock and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and robotics experience.
• Hands-on hardware bring-up, debugging and integration into production.
• Experience with industrial robotics and automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Ideate and design robotic systems from concept to production.
• Develop machines with mechanical, electrical, sensing and control elements.
• Collaborate with software teams on robot integration and data analysis.
• Lead system bring-up, calibration and verification activities.
• Create and test electronics wiring schematics and power/control layouts.
• Provide system-level troubleshooting across disciplines.
• Support manufacturing handoff and design-for-production principles.
• Work with cross-functional engineers to deliver robust solutions.
