Job summary

ASML Germany GmbH in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to own advanced control solutions for high‑precision mechatronic systems. You will drive design from concept through qualification, mentoring a team of engineers and coordinating across disciplines.

The role requires a Master’s in a related field and at least five years of experience, with strong knowledge of control theory, modeling, simulation, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, controls engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience developing controls for complex mechatronic or electromechanical systems.
• Experience leading technical work and advising engineering leaders or project managers.
• Strong knowledge of control theory, system dynamics, modeling, simulation, integration, and testing.
• Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or comparable tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of advanced control solutions for complex mechatronic modules.
• Translate product needs into clear requirements, specifications, interfaces, and verification plans.
• Develop control concepts, evaluate feasibility, and select approaches and technologies.
• Create detailed designs, models, documentation, test methods, and qualification plans.
• Integrate subsystems, investigate performance issues, and recommend improvements from test results.
• Coordinate technical work across engineering teams, suppliers, customers, and project partners.
• Identify risks and support project planning and execution.
• Mentor engineers to strengthen practices across related projects.
