Job summary

ASML US, LLC in San Diego, CA is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to develop advanced control solutions for high-precision mechatronic systems used in semiconductor production.

You will own technically complex solutions from concept through integration, mentor 3–5 engineers, and collaborate across disciplines to maintain quality, schedule, and safety.

The role requires a Master’s in a related field, at least five years of leadership in controls, and proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink/Python.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, controls or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in controls for complex mechatronic/electromechanical systems.
• Experience leading technical work and advising engineering leaders or PMs.
• Strong knowledge of control theory, system dynamics, modeling, simulation, integration, testing.
• Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Python or comparable tools.
• Experience working with adjacent disciplines and subsystem interactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of advanced control solutions for complex mechatronic modules.
• Translate product needs into clear requirements, specifications, interfaces, and verification plans.
• Develop control concepts, evaluate feasibility, and select practical approaches and technologies.
• Create detailed designs, models, documentation, test methods, and qualification plans.
• Integrate subsystems, investigate performance issues, and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate technical work across engineering teams, suppliers, customers, and project partners.
• Identify risks in technical, schedule, quality, and safety; support planning and execution.
