Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules, procurement, and coordination across teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in PM roles within mechanical contracting, strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP systems, and proven leadership in coordinating field and office teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction, mechanical contracting, MEP contracting, or with a General Contractor.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP systems.
• Demonstrated experience managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Strong knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration.
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, project documentation, and cost controls.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from preconstruction through final turnover and closeout.
• Develop execution strategies, schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and milestones.
• Coordinate activities across Project Management, field operations, VDC, Engineering, Procurement, and internal teams.
• Own project performance and ensure milestones and contractual requirements are met.
• Identify risks early and implement proactive solutions to keep projects moving.
• Manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
