Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead commercial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will own budgets, schedules, procurement, and coordination across PM, field ops, VDC, and engineering teams while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in project management for mechanical construction, strong HVAC/plumbing knowledge, and proven ability to drive projects on time and within

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction or related field.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP systems.
• Proven ability to manage projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Solid budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost controls.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Leadership to coordinate field teams, subcontractors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through turnover.
• Establish goals, schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and execution strategies.
• Coordinate activities across PM, field ops, VDC, engineering, and procurement.
• Maintain ownership of project performance and schedule adherence.
• Manage change orders, pricing, and contract modifications.
• Foster strong client and partner relationships and lead project meetings.
• Drive schedule, quality, safety, and closeout activities.
