Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical construction project management experience.
• Experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, healthcare, life sciences, or technology projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical construction projects from planning to closeout.

Senior Mechanical Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead complex mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong technical expertise, financial acumen, and the ability to mentor project teams while building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of mechanical construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and closeout.
• Manage and mentor project managers, project engineers, coordinators, and field personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard software.
• Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Coordinate with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and project documentation.
• Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all projects.
• Participate in preconstruction activities, including estimating, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
• Support business development efforts through relationship management and industry engagement.
• Foster employee growth through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of mechanical construction project management experience.
• Experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, healthcare, life sciences, or technology projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong financial management, forecasting, and contract administration experience.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working for a self-performing mechanical or MEP contractor.
• Background managing complex projects in healthcare, higher education, industrial manufacturing, life sciences, technology, or mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and developing future leaders.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in both office and construction site environments.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, typing, bending, and carrying materials as required.
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to navigate active construction sites safely.
