Job summary

gpac is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for mechanical construction in the West Kansas City Metro. This full-time role offers a base salary of 75,000–90,000 and exposure to turnkey project execution across HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal disciplines.

You'll work with Project Managers, superintendents, field teams, and vendors, handling RFIs, submittals, procurement, schedules, and cost tracking while growing toward greater project ownership.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant construction experience.
• Experience as Project Engineer or Assistant PM is helpful.
• HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal or other commercial construction experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, equipment tracking, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on material and equipment needs.
• Track equipment, material deliveries, and long-lead items.
• Assist with project schedules and milestones.
• Support change-order documentation and tracking.
• Participate in project meetings and follow up on action items.
• Work with superintendents and field teams to resolve project needs.
• Assist with cost tracking, billing, forecasting, and other financial processes.
• Review drawings, specifications, and mechanical scopes.
• Support commissioning, punch lists, closeout documentation, and project completion.
• Take on increasing project responsibility as experience grows.
