Job summary

You will ensure design and production stay on budget and schedule. Responsibilities include developing design concepts with clients, preparing specifications, calculations, energy analyses, field reviews, mentoring junior designers, and coordinating with trades.

Qualifications

• Registered PE with a Mechanical Engineering degree plus at least 10 years of experience.
• Experience in commercial building mechanical design, preferably with healthcare facility design experience.
• Engineering calculation software and equipment selection programs.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and conduct all phases of mechanical design and construction.
• Ensure design and production remain within budgets and schedules.
• Generate specifications and conduct calculations for HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.
• Evaluate existing systems and perform energy payback analysis.
• Produce proposals and presentations; develop client design concepts within objectives and budget.
• Manage project staff, quality, and budget; coordinate with other trades.
• Mentor junior designers; perform field reviews during construction.
• Maintain client and contractor relationships.
• Lead and coordinate with client to ensure regulatory compliance.
