Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings Division in the Douglassville, PA office. You will design facilities-related mechanical systems across Healthcare, Education, Municipal, Industrial, Federal and Science & Technology markets, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team through planning to construction documents.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in architectural or mechanical engineering.
• Professional Engineer license required; multi-state licensure a plus.
• In-depth boiler/chiller system design knowledge.
• Experience with HVAC controls and energy analysis tools preferred.
• 15+ years designing engineering systems for large buildings.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Experience with energy modeling software preferred.
• LEED/Green Globe/ASHRAE accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce contract documents (plans/specs) aligned with scope and schedule.
• Prepare drawings/specs per best practices and STV quality standards.
• Coordinate with architects and MEP engineers on HVAC requirements.
• Perform construction administration including RFIs and submittal reviews.
• Attend meetings with owners, contractors, and design teams.
• Select HVAC equipment and develop schedules/diagrams with sequences of operation.
• Perform heating/cooling/ventilation load analyses.
• Utilize energy analysis tools (e.g., HAP, TRACE 700, IES) for projects.
• Conduct field surveys/site investigations and prepare reports.
• Prepare calculations for LEED submissions.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to proposal language and estimates.
