Job summary

Saint-Gobain’s CertainTeed is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead planning, design and modification of equipment and processes in a manufacturing environment. You will drive cost control, scheduling and cross-functional coordination while maintaining safety standards and documentation.

You will collaborate with engineers, maintenance and operations to deliver improvements in product quality, reliability and capacity, with a focus on Six Sigma methods and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS or BET in Engineering, Mechanical preferred.
• 2–10 years of design and engineering experience in manufacturing setting.
• Must have project management experience including daily management of contractors and plant skilled trades.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Advanced computer skills with emphasis in Microsoft Office; CAD knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Develop new or modify existing equipment, machines or processes to improve product quality, service reliability, reduce costs or increase capacity.
• Plan mechanical project work through team coordination meetings and scheduling.
• Troubleshoot and improve operations, efficiency and safety.
• Consult with engineers and maintenance personnel on mechanical projects and techniques to resolve critical situations.
• Update and maintain current documentation of mechanical specifications, drawings and safety procedures.
