Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking an Engineering Mechanical Lead to plan, design, install, operate, maintain, and modify equipment and systems to enhance production and workplace safety. The role emphasizes project management, cost control, and collaboration with engineers and maintenance teams across the plant.

You will plan tasks, supervise contractors, and steward documentation and safety procedures while driving continuous improvement and capacity gains.

Qualifications

• Requires engineering design and problem-solving ability.
• Strong planning, scheduling and cost-control skills.
• Must manage contractors and plant personnel during projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• CAD and MS Office proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Develop new or modify existing equipment, machines or processes to improve quality, reliability, or capacity.
• Perform calculations and cost estimates of mechanical systems.
• Plan mechanical project work through coordination meetings and scheduling.
• Troubleshoot operations to improve efficiency, safety, and output.
• Consult with engineers and maintenance to resolve issues and meet production goals.
• Update documentation of mechanical specifications, drawings, and procedures.
• Apply Six Sigma tools and methods where appropriate.
• Define department problems and translate into engineering solutions.
• Report EH&S incidents and participate in investigations to determine root causes.
