Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer to support LNG, industrial gas and hydrocarbon projects across North America. The role emphasizes strong fundamentals in piping, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, and process systems, with opportunities to develop LNG/cryogenic expertise.

The ideal candidate will lead multi-disciplinary teams, perform stress analyses, support feasibility studies, and participate in client engagements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
Minimum of 10 years in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings.
Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by state licensing board.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD.
Demonstrated leadership, team coordination and project management experience.

Responsibilities

Develop mechanical and/or process system designs, including P&IDs and sizing.
Prepare equipment specifications and support procurement activities.
Perform pipe stress analysis and engineering evaluations.
Support feasibility studies, conceptual design, and cost estimating.
Lead mechanical discipline on multiple projects and coordinate with teams.
Support bid evaluations, vendor coordination and contractor interactions.
Provide field support including site visits, inspections and commissioning assistance.
Contribute to client presentations, proposals and relationships.
