Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer to support LNG, industrial gas, and hydrocarbon infrastructure projects across North America. The role emphasizes strong mechanical design fundamentals with LNG/cryogenic exposure, leading multi-discipline teams, and delivering equipment sizing, P&IDs, and design specs.

Applicants should have a PE license, 10+ years of mechanical design experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project, and piping stress tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years in mechanical system design for large facilities.
• PE license recognized by licensing board.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project.
• Leadership and project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical and/or process system designs including P&IDs, equipment sizing, detailed design, and system calculations.
• Prepare equipment and design specifications and support procurement activities.
• Perform pipe stress analysis (AutoPIPE) and engineering evaluations.
• Support feasibility studies, conceptual design, and project cost estimating.
• Serve as a mechanical lead on multiple projects, coordinating with multi-discipline teams.
• Support bid evaluations, vendor coordination, and contractor interactions.
• Provide field support including site visits, inspections, and commissioning/start-up assistance.
• Support client presentations, proposals, and ongoing client relationship development.
