Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer to support LNG, industrial gas, and hydrocarbon projects across North America. Ideal candidates have strong fundamentals in piping, vessels, rotating equipment, or process systems and are eager to develop LNG/cryogenic expertise.

You will lead mechanical design efforts, coordinate with multi-discipline teams, and contribute to feasibility studies, cost estimating, and client relationships. A PE license and 10+ years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in mechanical system design for large buildings or similar facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or license-eligible.
• Strong knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD.
• Experience with LNG/cryogenic systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical/process designs including P&IDs, equipment sizing, and system calculations.
• Prepare equipment specifications and support procurement activities.
• Perform pipe stress analysis (AutoPIPE) and evaluations.
• Support feasibility studies, conceptual design, and project cost estimating.
• Lead mechanical discipline on multiple projects and coordinate with teams.
• Support bid evaluations, vendor coordination, and contractor interactions.
• Provide field support with site visits, inspections, and start-up assistance.
• Contribute to client presentations and ongoing relationships.
