Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer to support LNG, industrial gas, and hydrocarbon infrastructure projects across North America. The role targets engineers with strong mechanical fundamentals in piping, vessels, rotating equipment, or process systems, with opportunities to develop LNG/cryogenic expertise.

The successful candidate will lead multi-disciplinary teams, deliver designs, and support field activities, client relations, and proposals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
10+ years of mechanical system design experience in commercial or institutional buildings.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD.
Demonstrated leadership and project management experience in a team environment.
Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.

Responsibilities

Develop mechanical and/or process designs including P&IDs, equipment sizing, and calculations.
Prepare equipment specifications and support procurement.
Perform pipe stress analyses and engineering evaluations.
Support feasibility studies, conceptual design, and cost estimation.
Lead mechanical discipline on multiple projects and coordinate with teams.
Support bid evaluations, vendor coordination, and client interactions.
Provide field support including site visits, inspections, and startup assistance.
Support client presentations, proposals, and ongoing relationships.
Perform other duties as needed.
