Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer to support LNG, industrial gas, and hydrocarbon infrastructure projects across North America. This role suits engineers with solid fundamentals in piping systems, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, or process systems who want to apply their experience to LNG and cryogenic applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 10 years in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated leadership, team coordination and project management experience.
• Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms is preferred.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical and process system designs including P&ID's, equipment sizing, detailed design, and system calculations.
• Prepare equipment and design specifications and support procurement activities.
• Perform pipe stress analysis (AutoPIPE/Caesar II) and engineering evaluations.
• Support feasibility studies, conceptual design, and project cost estimating.
• Serve as a mechanical lead on multiple projects, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Support bid evaluations, vendor coordination, and contractor interactions.
• Provide field support including site visits, inspections, and commissioning/start-up assistance.
• Support client presentations, proposals, and ongoing client relationship development.
