Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical HVAC estimating or takeoffs.
• Experience reviewing light commercial and multifamily mechanical plans.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents such as drawings, specs, bid forms, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
• Effective verbal communication skills to speak before groups of customers or employees; experience with estimating techniques and cost control.
• Ability to perform detailed equipment and material take-offs.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate bid requests for commercial and multifamily projects.
• Prepare weekly bid board calendar and ensure timely completion of pricing.
• Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy; analyze project documents to understand scope and identify pricing gaps.
• Prepare cost analyses by recapitulating material, equipment, and incurred costs.
• Generate estimates when predetermined standards are not available.
• Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, and government requirements.
• Build relationships with customers to improve bid-day communication and advantages.
• Assist Business Development with procurement strategies, lead suggestions, selling points, and needs review.
