Join our team as a Construction Project Estimator in Irving, TX, where your expertise in managing bids and preparing accurate estimates will be key to driving successful commercial and multifamily construction projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing bid requests, preparing detailed cost estimates, and managing the bid calendar to ensure timely and competitive pricing. You will work closely with Business Development, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to support bid execution and project success in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate bid requests for commercial and multifamily projects.
• Prepare weekly bid board calendar and ensure timely completion of pricing.
• Review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
• Analyze project documents to understand scope of work and identify potential pricing gaps.
• Prepare cost analysis by recapitulating material, equipment, and incurred costs.
• Generate estimates when predetermined standards are not available.
• Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, and government requirements.
• Build relationships with customers to improve bid-day communication and advantages.
• Assist Business Development with procurement strategies, lead suggestions, selling points, and needs review, including attending sales activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical HVAC estimating or takeoffs, or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Experience reviewing light commercial and multifamily mechanical plans.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents such as drawings, specifications, bid forms, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Effective verbal communication skills to speak before groups of customers or employees.
• Experience with estimating techniques and cost control.
• Ability to perform detailed equipment and material take-offs.
• Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of estimation software on GRDS such as Fast Duct and cross-reference tools is strongly encouraged.
• Well versed in current industry trends.
• Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to perform duties outside of scope when necessary.
