Job summary

Austal USA, LLC in Mobile, AL seeks a Senior Production Engineer to support shipyard design/construction. You will document changes, answer questions, and coordinate deck plate changes between Design Engineering and Production.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years shipyard experience, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD; Ship Constructor/NavisWorks), excellent communication, and ability to lead Production Engineers I & II.

Qualifications

• General: Minimum of 10 years of shipyard design or construction experience OR 8 years with an Associate's degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years of production floor experience OR 6 years of experience in a supervisory capacity on the production floor
• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline is a benefit

Responsibilities

• Support Production by documenting changes, answering questions and creating deck plate changes
• Ensure timely and accurate communication between Design Engineering and Production
• May lead the work of Production Engineers I & II
• Interact with Production, all other internal/external customer representatives and equipment manufacturers.
