Job summary

Austal USA is seeking an experienced engineer to contribute to maritime vessel construction and design. Ideal candidates will have 2 to 6 years of relevant experience, excellent communication skills, and leadership abilities. The role involves design calculations and leading junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 6 years of relevant engineering experience in the shipbuilding industry.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Capable of training and developing level 1 engineers.
  • Understanding of scheduling and adherence to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with Production and multiple design teams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design calculations and drawing development for maritime vessels.
  • Complies with company procedures and policies.
  • May lead and direct the work of Engineers I, Designers, and Draftspersons.
  • Provide input to evaluations of Engineers I, Designers, and Draftspersons.
