Qualifications

• 8+ years in shipbuilding engineering or 12+ years engineering experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

• Understanding of scheduling and strict deadlines
• Experience with multiple engineering disciplines and customers
• Experience reviewing contract requirements and performing specification traces
• Experience developing technical trade-off studies and cost analyses
• Familiarity with ship systems and manufacturing methods

Responsibilities

• Provide expert judgement for design, development, and implementation of shipboard systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and communicate resolutions
• Lead complex system calculations, traceability, and engineering reports
• Check designs for accuracy and adherence to contract requirements
• Mentor and train other engineers
• Coordinate with engineers, departments, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet specifications and deadlines
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• Interact with production, design teams, and customers to ensure project completion on time
