Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced estimator for xPL offsite solutions. The role focuses on preparing detailed estimates across structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines, coordinating with vendors, and aligning with manufacturing and procurement teams to ensure competitive pricing.

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of related experience, with strong DFMA knowledge and proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Experience in structural, mechanical and/or electrical disciplines.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Knowledge of estimating documents and ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of documents.
• Conceptual ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop understanding of project requirements and develop accurate estimates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimate including quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate input, and studies for items in identified xPL project scope(s).
• Collaborate with xPL team and stakeholders to understand proposed scope and identified xPL solutions and products.
• Apply Design For Manufacturing (DFMA) knowledge to understand project requirements for xPL manufacturing and facility capacity.
• Lead document management for project, including receiving drawings and specifications, and distribute information to stakeholders.
• Assist with defining setup of estimate, estimate schedule, and responsibility matrix.
• Serve as liaison with and between vendors, suppliers, Third-party integrators, client, and xPL facility to document coordination and scope definitions.
• Coordinate with xPL Manufacturing and Procurement teams to obtain best-in-market pricing for materials and seek substitutions to enhance price competitiveness.
• Analyze cost data, unit prices, and material costing to develop standard information for xPL solution costs.
• Develop xPL value analysis studies evaluating schedule, cost, and labor benefits.
• Gain comprehension of factors required for comprehensive xPL scoping including contracts, logistics, capacity, and schedule.
• Prepare scope requisitions for materials, products, and/or Trades; coordinate to identify/eliminate scope gaps.
• Prepare comparison analysis to previous estimate(s) and/or stick-built alternatives.
• Obtain/evaluate vendor proposals and document information for price leveling and comparison.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to support estimating efforts.
• Maintain pricing histories and materials/cost databases.
• May supervise xPL team members as assigned.
• Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
