Job summary

WSP USA's Facilities Division seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Boise, ID; Madison, WI; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; or Overland Park, KS locations, with remote option for the right candidate. The role centers on food & beverage, federal, and industrial facility design, delivering high‑performing projects through responsible design and collaboration with clients and communities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
10+ years of refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and utility piping design experience.
Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
Knowledge of mechanical systems including hydronics, steam, refrigeration, and gas.
Proficient in design/build processes, permitting, and project work.
Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and management.

Responsibilities

Oversee data collection and analysis from sites and drawings for project development.
Apply advanced mechanical engineering techniques across design, procurement, and construction.
Lead internal teams and subcontractors, manage budgets, hours, and expenses.
Assist with permit reviews, plans, and compliance with regulations.
Meet with clients and stakeholders to discuss engineering and construction challenges.
Develop client relationships for high-level mechanical engineering services.
