Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to drive vacuum valve development from concept through prototype to production. You will partner with product management, applications engineering and customers to define requirements and deliver innovative vacuum solutions.

You will lead 3D CAD modeling, perform mechanical/thermal/fluid analyses, and help scale designs for manufacturing. The role emphasizes collaboration across engineering and manufacturing, plus hands-on testing, fixture

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with manual and FEA analysis.
• Experience with Vacuum Technology.
• Experience with mechanical fabrication techniques (machining, welding, brazing, sheet metal).
• Technical experience in product development and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product management, applications engineering and customers to understand requirements and develop solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Develop vacuum valve designs and prototypes through PDP from ideation to production.
• Develop test plans for engineering performance and reliability.
• Design test fixtures and equipment for product performance and evaluation.
• Create specifications, perform analysis, and produce 3D models and detailed drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations to ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable.
