Nightwing in Springfield, VA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive design from concept through prototype, testing, and production. You will collaborate with mechanical, civil, and electrical teams to deliver robust solutions on time.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on prototyping experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in SolidWorks and Revit. Willingness to travel and obtain clearance are required for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be willing to obtain TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 2+ years experience (3+ with advanced degree).
• Hands-on prototyping experience with rapid design cycles.
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks and Revit preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts through prototype development, testing, documentation, and production.
• Perform advanced engineering analyses and create drawings.
• Coordinate hardware fabrication and write detailed technical procedures.
• Prepare presentations, field reports, cost estimates, and design reviews.
• Assist Program Manager with technical, cost, and schedule requirements and help shape future strategies.
