Nightwing seeks a highly skilled civil engineer with a structural focus for our Springfield, VA team. You will perform structural analyses, develop detailed designs, and review calculations to ensure code compliance across steel, concrete, wood, and composites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• FE exam passed and PE/SE registration intent.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, or 6+ years with master's in structural focus.
• Strong background in structural analysis, codes, materials testing, and construction practices.
• Experience with CAD software; Autodesk & SolidWorks platforms preferred.
• Experience with RAM, Risa, Tekla, SkyCiv, and IDEA StatiCA.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analyses and generate detailed designs for steel, concrete, wood, and composites.
• Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers to develop effective solutions.
• Write test plans, coordinate testing, and analyze results.
• Apply design codes and construction practices to projects.
• Mentor engineers and review documents and calculations for quality.
