Vertiv’s Thermal Business Unit seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead advanced development of next‑generation cooling systems for data centers. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, process engineering and production teams to drive innovative designs from concept through validation.

Requirements include a BS.Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree preferred) and 7–10 years of relevant experience, with strong thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and CFD/FEA familiarity.

Qualifications

• BSME or directly related degree at minimum.
• Advanced Degree preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in a similar position.
• Understanding of electrical schematic and pneumatic drawings (P&ID).
• Understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and/or as a member of a dynamic team.
• Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding of product development phases.
• Excellent project management skills and communication skills.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, CREO 4.0 and greater.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsabilités

• Conduct advanced development tasks to inform NPDI teams designing new cooling systems for high density computer rooms.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, process engineering and production teams; participate in design reviews and cost-target discussions.
• Perform engineering calculations including stress, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
• Perform CFD and/or 1D modeling to evaluate and optimize cooling system architectures.
• Develop prototypes to support advanced product design and proof‑of‑concept testing.
• Plan and oversee proof‑of‑concept testing; validate or modify designs and analysis methods.
• Compile reports and design guidelines.
