Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support new product development of Thermal global products. You will handle the physical/thermal design from concept to launch, with hands-on lab testing on 2nd shift (approx. 11am–8pm).

The role requires CAD expertise, BOM management, and collaboration with Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and Quality to deliver robust products. Responsibilities include prototype support, data analysis, and thermal/controls optimization to meet customer needs, while

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Proficient with CAD tools: Creo, Solid Edge, SolidWorks.
Experience with sheet metal, piping and assemblies is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented with excellent planning, documentation, and communication.

Responsibilities

Create/modify mechanical parts/assemblies/drawings in CAD systems (Creo, Solid Edge, SolidWorks).
Create and maintain BOMs and unit configurator logic based on customer options.
Collaborate with Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and Quality to meet requirements.
Assist with prototype builds and provide technical guidance.
Analyze test data; diagnose issues and implement improvements.
Model thermal systems to optimize performance and select correct parts.
Determine control routines for optimal operation and customer requirements.
Coordinate lab testing and troubleshoot escalated or recurring field issues.
