Job summary

Maverick Power is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to design custom switchboards and switchgear, develop drawings, and generate bills of materials. You will apply manufacturing-focused design principles to reduce complexity and cost while creating modular components for faster fabrication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks modeling software.
• Experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings.
• Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact with engineering and manufacturing personnel.
• Must effectively utilize time and prioritize tasks.
• Working knowledge of UL 891/UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.
• Knowledge of low voltage switchboard / switchgear design and installation.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes governing installation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project proposals and apply power distribution knowledge to devise solutions.
• Design mechanical parts for switchboards and switchgear for manufacturability using CAD tools.
• Create 3D models of switchboards.
• Generate BOMs and modify standard assemblies for project needs.
• Coordinate with engineering and production teams to implement designs.
• Interpret customer bid drawings, electrical diagrams, plans and specifications.
• Support manufacturing, testing, quality, and field service teams.
