Job summary

Maverick Power, based in Texas, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design custom switchboards and switchgear. You will create BOMs, develop drawings, and seek alternative components, applying design-for-manufacturing principles to reduce cost and lead times.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and production teams. The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years in manufacturing, with SolidWorks experience and knowledge of UL/NEC

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years in manufacturing environments.
• Experience designing switchboards and switchgear is a plus.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and CAD for 3D models.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Knowledge of UL 891/UL 508A and NEC/NFPA 70E is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze proposals to develop power distribution solutions.
• Design switchboard parts for manufacturability using CAD.
• Create 3D switchboard models.
• Prepare BOMs and modify assemblies per project.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams.
• Interpret customer drawings and specifications.
• Support manufacturing, testing, QA, and field service.
