Maverick Power is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team, responsible for the mechanical design of medium voltage switchgear enclosures, structures, and assemblies from concept through production release.

This role exercises independent engineering judgment to meet customer specifications, industry standards, and manufacturability requirements, working closely with electrical engineering, project management, and production teams.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, sheet metal, weldments).
• Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and design for manufacturability.
• Knowledge of GD&T, welding symbols, tolerances, and manufacturing documentation.
• Demonstrated independent engineering judgment on design matters.

Responsabilidades

• Own the mechanical design of components and assemblies from concept through production release, choosing materials and manufacturability strategies.
• Perform structural, thermal/ventilation analyses and tolerance stack-ups to verify designs meet specs and standards.
• Interpret customer submittals, specs, and standards (UL, NEMA, ANSI/IEEE) for project designs.
• Develop and release 3D models, drawings, and BOMs in SolidWorks; set design standards for the team.
• Evaluate issues raised by production; determine root causes and approve design changes.
• Review supplier CAD data and approve integration of purchased components into designs.
• Mentor and guide junior designers; drive continuous improvement in DFM practices.
