Job summary

Maverick Power in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to design custom switchboards and switchgear, develop drawings, and create bills of materials. You will apply design for manufacturing principles to reduce complexity, build time, and costs while creating modular components for scalable production.

You will collaborate with electrical and manufacturing teams to interpret drawings, generate 3D models, and support quality, testing, and field service.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings.
• Experience designing and modeling parts and assemblies from basic concepts.
• Familiarity with UL 891, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze proposals using power distribution knowledge to develop solutions.
• Design mechanical parts for switchboard manufacturability using CAD software.
• Create 3D models of switchboards.
• Generate Bills of Materials and modify standard assemblies for project needs.
• Coordinate with electrical/mechanical teams and production to implement designs.
• Interpret customer bid drawings, electrical diagrams, layouts and specs.
• Support manufacturing, testing, quality and field service teams as needed.
