Job summary

Maverick Power is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Research and Development to design and produce power distribution systems for global clients. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams across projects requiring knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and safety standards.

Role focuses on developing robust enclosures, BOMs, and validation plans, with opportunities to influence product strategy in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical design experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with 3D CAD; SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience with BOM, drawing packages, work instructions, and testing plans.
• Experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies/systems.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, and control panels.
• Evaluate drawings and specifications to meet customer requirements.
• Design electrical enclosures meeting UL, ANSI, IEEE, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.
• Create bills of materials and specify parts.
• Develop test plans for product validation and certification.
• Coordinate with 3rd party labs for testing and data analysis.
• Lead cross-functional interactions to optimize product/process solutions.
• Develop engineering solutions for custom switchgear and related equipment.
