Job summary

Maverick Power is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (R&D) to lead the mechanical design of power distribution systems in North Texas. You will work with engineering and manufacturing teams to design switchgear and control panels for global customers.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, has 10+ years of design experience, and is proficient in 3D CAD with SolidWorks. On-site work in a high-energy environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology.
• Minimum of 10 years mechanical design experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with 3D CAD; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Manufacturing experience with BOMs, drawings, work instructions, and testing plans.
• Experience with low/medium-voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, and control panels.
• Evaluate drawings and specifications to develop designs meeting customer requirements.
• Design electrical enclosures meeting UL, ANSI, IEEE, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.
• Create bills of materials and work with internal/external manufacturing.
• Develop test plans for product validation and certification.
• Coordinate with 3rd party labs for testing and data analysis.
• Lead interactions with other functions and locations to determine optimum solutions.
• Develop engineering solutions for custom low-voltage and MV switchgear projects.
