Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer for heavy industrial/steel operations.

The role blends hands-on field work on the plant floor with engineering excellence, leading equipment improvements and major capital projects to improve safety, reliability, and plant performance. You’ll partner with Maintenance and Operations to troubleshoot, design specifications, manage contractors, and deliver projects from concept through completion, with travel as needed to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline (equivalent experience may be considered).
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in steelmaking, metals, foundry, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
• Experience with melting equipment, furnaces, or steelmaking operations is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated experience managing capital projects, equipment installations, contractors, budgets, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, improve, and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems throughout the facility.
• Lead reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime, performance, and efficiency.
• Support and manage melting and steelmaking equipment upgrades, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Provide engineering expertise for large baghouse and environmental systems to ensure reliable operation and regulatory compliance.
• Lead capital and facility improvement projects from initial concept through installation, commissioning, and completion.
