Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical systems in a steel/heavy industrial environment. You will work on equipment installations, reliability improvements, and capital projects that impact safety, productivity, and uptime.

This role requires hands-on plant-floor troubleshooting, development of specifications, managing contractors, and leading projects from concept through completion, including travel as needed to support installations and evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in steelmaking or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment, hydraulics, material handling, and plant systems.
• Experience with melting equipment, furnaces, or steelmaking operations is a strong plus.
• Experience with large baghouse, dust collection, or environmental systems is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience managing capital projects, equipment installations, budgets, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, improve, and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems throughout the facility.
• Lead reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime and efficiency.
• Support and manage melting and steelmaking equipment upgrades, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Provide engineering expertise for industrial baghouse and environmental systems to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Lead projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and completion, with detailed scopes and schedules.
